Numbers are a very big part of our life."Kate" Elim posted about numbers in her post on points 77,777 Blogging Points and I couldn't help but think how much of our lives are "Ruled BY Numbers"
Numbers That Rule Us
- We are judged by and judge others by their numbers
- We are tracked and traced by numbers
- We are measured by numbers
- We are kept in line by numbers
- We are held accountable by numbers
- We watch our weight by numbers
- We measure our worth in numbers
- We measure our success in numbers
- We count our age in numbers
- We measure our competitive position by numbers
For some its all about the numbers
- The number of points they have here on AR
- The number of comments they receive on a post
- The number of followers they have on Twitter
- The number of friends they have on facebook
- The number of listing presentation they need to make to get a listing
- The number of listings they need to meet their goals
- The number of deals they have in a year
- The number of dollars each deal earns
- The number of dollars each deal costs
- The number of dollars they have to pay in taxes
Who would we be with out numbers
- would we be ageless
- would we be childless
- would we be rich
- would we be poor
- would we be successful
- would we be a failure
- would we be over weight
- would we be under weight
- would we be less competitive
- would we be more compassionate
We tend to let the numbers become the focus and stop thinking about what is behind the numbers, the people, the event, the issue. We forget who we are, could or should be. We focus on the numbers and we measure

True enough...it is not how many whatever it is you have but the quality of the numbers that makes or breaks the success of any profession...many of them to you !
Kathy - I enjoyed your post. We are sometimes defined by numbers. However, similar to the Hansons, I look for quality over quantity. For example, I would rather have 100 quality posts versus 500 rambling posts on nothingness. Or, 10 followers on Twitter who refer me business versus 500 who I have never tweeted with and don't have any contact with.

Sally and David - Thank you ... The quality of that which we are relating to at the moment is far better than the quantity.
Ryan - In looking at life through the numbers that define us quality should far outweigh quantity.
My husband (in talking with his beer drinking coworkers) use to say it does not matter the number of friends you have. The only real friends are those who you can count on to step up to the plate regardless of the issue because you were a friend not because your fridge was full of beer.
